Chavin - Understanding the Tastes of Gen Z at Wine Paris

At the heart of Wine Paris, Le Figaro Vin delved into the evolving preferences of the 18-25 age group. Contrary to common beliefs, these young consumers are redefining drinking habits through a mix of moderation and experimentation. Despite a general decline in alcohol consumption in France over the past 60 years (-60% according to INSEE), this generation shows an unexpected interest in French vineyard products alongside global beverages and “no-low” options.

A notable insight from the CSA study conducted for Maison Chavin reveals that 55% of non-alcoholic wine consumers are aged between 18 and 34, underscoring a significant trend towards mindful drinking. This demographic is drawn not just to traditional wines but also to non-alcoholic alternatives like Chavin Zéro Vin De France Cabernet Merlot. Their curiosity extends to local and international flavors, with growing participation in oenological associations such as Gargantue’Sk at Skema Business School Lille, where students actively engage in wine culture.
